The Laurentius dinner is organized once every two years. We will then invite about 600 Rotterdammers who – for whatever reason – have to live at or even below the subsistence minimum for a fantastic meal in the Laurenskerk. That evening they take center stage and are served and welcomed by those more lucky. We’ve turned the tables like this four times and we’re celebrating a great party. Unfortunately, the fifth edition had to be postponed by Corona. Fortunately, we now have a new date to live up to: Saturday, October 8, 2022.
To raise the money for this special evening, we need your help. We challenge you to get on your bike or put on your walking shoes on Thursday March 31, 2022 to set out on the road together with others amongst them representatives of non-profit organizations. You will raise money by getting sponsored for this effort. In this way, a cycling or walking tour becomes a special moment of encounter for you and you hopefully contribute to a meaningful dinner for the most vulnerable Rotterdammers.
The program on March 31 is as follows:
2 p.m. kick-off of the sponsor tour, by Mayor Aboutaleb on the square in front of the Laurenskerk
2.15 pm start of the cycling and walking tour (there is a walking tour of 5 and 10 km and a cycling tour of 16 or 30 km)
From 15.30 pm return of the participants at the Laurenskerk and handing out a souvenir
