What is the MoneyTalk project about?
With MoneyTalk, SKIN-Rotterdam helps people who are struggling financially to regain control and get back on track. We do this in places where trust already exists: in international churches in Rotterdam. It is precisely there that we reach people who often remain invisible to the government and aid agencies.

What we will do in 2026
In 2026, we will further expand three successful drop-in centers in church buildings on Mijnsherenplein (Tarwewijk), Huniahof (IJsselmonde), and Haifaweg (Hoogvliet). Here, people can easily drop in for a conversation about money. Together, we look at what they are entitled to and what steps will help them move forward.

Our approach
Our approach is based on the potjescheck (funds check), supplemented by the Geldwijzer (money guide). Volunteers provide insight into income support schemes, answer questions about administration and benefits, and help people think about the next steps. Where necessary, we refer them to appropriate help in the local network. We also distribute free items and offer budget courses, so that people are not only helped today, but also become stronger for the future.

In this way, GeldGesprek contributes to greater financial peace of mind, knowledge, and self-confidence: close to home and in confidence.
